How to Move Media from One Project to Another in Filio

Filio allows you to move selected media from one project to another without downloading and uploading the files again. You can move one or multiple photos, videos, or other media files directly from the Media section. This is useful when media was captured under the wrong project or needs to be reorganized into the correct project record.

Step 1- Open the Project and Select Media

Log in to the Filio Web App and open the project that currently contains the media you want to move.
From the Media section, use the checkboxes on the media cards to select one or multiple files.
The number of selected media items appears in the action bar above the media list.

Once the report opens, you will be inside the Filio Report Editor.

Step 2- Click the Move Media Button

After selecting the media, locate the Move Media button in the top action bar.
The button appears as a folder with an arrow pointing to the right.
Click it to open the Move Media To window.

Step 3 - Find and Select the Destination Project

Inside the Move Media To window, select the project where you want to move the media.
The project list displays information such as:
* Project Name
* Project Code
* Last Updated
* Project Status
You can also use the search bar to find a project by its name or project code.
Select the circle beside the correct destination project. Only one destination project can be selected.
Before continuing, check the project name and code carefully to make sure you selected the correct project.

Step 4 - Click Move

After selecting the destination project, click Move.
Filio immediately transfers the selected media to the destination project. There is no additional confirmation window after clicking Move.
When the transfer is complete, a Media moved successfully message appears on the screen.
Because this action moves the files instead of creating copies, make sure the correct destination project is selected before clicking Move.

Step 5 - Review the Media in the Destination Project

Open the destination project and go to its Media section to confirm that the transferred files appear correctly.
You can then review or update their:
* Descriptions
* Al Captions
* Tags
* Custom Fields
* Map or plan sheet positions
* Other associated media details

Tips and Warning

Tips:

  • Use the search bar when your company has many projects.
  • Check the project code when projects have similar names.
  • Select multiple media files to move them together in one action.
  • Review the destination project after the move is complete.
  • Move misplaced media promptly to keep project documentation accurate.

Warning:

  • Moving media is different from copying media.
  • There is no additional confirmation after you click Move.
  • Moving media may change where team members can find or access those files.
  • Make sure you have access to both the current project and the destination project.

Keep project records organized by moving media to the correct Filio project.
