How to Add Timestamps to Media in a Filio Report

Filio allows you to add timestamps directly to media inside a report. This helps make report images more traceable by showing details such as the date taken, time taken, time zone, and who captured the media.

You can add a timestamp to one media item or apply the same timestamp style to all media in the report.

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1 – Open a Report in Filio

Log in to the Filio Web App and open the project that contains the report.
You can access the report in two ways:
* Go to the Reports section and open a report from Report History
* Open a report immediately after creating it from selected project media

Once the report opens, you will be inside the Filio Report Editor.

Step 2 – Select the Media You Want to Edit

Inside the Report Editor, find the media item where you want to add the timestamp.
Click the media image or the Markup & Edit button to open the media editing workspace.
This opens the Edit Media screen, where you can adjust the media and add timestamp details.

Step 3 – Open the Timestamp Tool

In the Edit Media screen, use the bottom toolbar to open the Timestamp option.
This opens the Timestamp settings window.
From here, you can enable and customize the timestamp before applying it to the media.

Step 4 – Choose Timestamp Information

In the Timestamp settings window, turn on Enable Timestamp.
Then choose which details you want to display on the media.
Available timestamp options may include:
* Taken By
* Date Taken
* Time Taken
* Time Zone
You can select one detail or multiple details depending on what your report needs.
For example, you may choose Date Taken, Time Taken, and Time Zone to clearly show when the media was captured.

Step 5 – Customize Timestamp Style and Placement

After selecting the timestamp information, customize how it appears on the media.
You can adjust:
* Alignment
* Placement above or below the media
* Margin
* Font size
* Text style
* Bold, italic, or underline formatting
* Text color
This helps you make the timestamp readable while keeping the report layout clean and professional.

Step 6 – Save the Timestamp

After customizing the timestamp, click Save.
Filio will ask whether you want to apply the timestamp to only the selected media or to all media in the report.
You can choose:
* This only
* Apply to all
Choose This only if the timestamp should appear on one media item.
Choose Apply to all if you want the same timestamp style and settings applied across the full report.

Step 7 - Save and Close the Media Editor

After applying the timestamp, click Save & Close to return to the report.
The timestamp will now appear on the selected media, or on all media if you selected Apply to all.

Step 8 - Save the Report Changes

Once you return to the Report Editor, click Save Changes.
This ensures the timestamp updates are saved inside the report.
You can continue editing, reviewing, downloading, or sharing the report after saving.

Tips and Warning

Tips:

  • Use Date Taken and Time Taken when the exact capture time is important for inspections progress tracking, or field documentation.
  • Add Time Zone when reports are shared across different regions or teams.
  • Use Apply to all when you want a consistent timestamp style across the full report.
  • Keep the timestamp readable by choosing a clear color and enough margin.
  • Use the same formatting style across reports for a more professional layout.

Warning:

  • Applying the timestamp to all media will update every media item in the report with the same timestamp style.
  • Make sure the timestamp does not cover important parts of the image.
  • Review the report after applying timestamps to confirm the placement looks correct.
  • Remember to click Save Changes in the Report Editor after finishing your edits.

Make your report media easier to verify with timestamps in Filio.
