How to Create a Report in Filio Web App

The Report Creation feature in the Filio Web App lets you transform your project media, AI captions, and annotations into professional, branded reports in just a few steps.
You can use Filio’s pre-made templates or create your own personalized layout, including company logos, plan sheets, and map overlays.

Step 1 – Open Filio Web App and Select a Project

Log into filio.io


using your web browser.

From the Media tab, select the project you want to report on.


 
 

Step 2 – Select Media for the Report

Check the box beside each photo or video you want to include.


Once selected, click the Create Report icon on the toolbar above your media list.

 

Step 3 – Choose a Report Template

The Create Report window opens. Choose between Portrait or Landscape layouts.
You can:


Use Filio’s pre-made templates, or


Click Add Your Personalized Report to open the Personalized Report Wizard, where you can create your own layout design.

 

Step 4 – Add First and Last Page Templates

You’ll be prompted to add a First Page and (optional) Last Page template for your report.
You can: Choose from existing templates (e.g., Filio Report Template), or Click + New Template to design your own front or back cover, including your company name, project title, and logo.

Step 5 – Customize Report Options and Order

In the next step:


Choose to display selected media on Map or Plan Sheets.


Drag and drop to change the order of pages.


Check “Map/Plan sheet on first page” if you want your layout to include project visuals.


You can also assign roles:


Add Report Preparer


Add Report Reviewer

Then click Create to generate your report.

 

Step 6 – Review, Annotate, Comment, and Save Your Report

After your report is generated, it opens in the Filio Report Editor for final review and collaboration.
Here’s what you can do before finalizing:


Edit Project Information: Update titles, contractor details, dates, or predefined Filio fields directly within the report.


Annotate Media:

Click on any image to open the Markup Tools and draw, highlight, or point out important areas right on the photo.


Add Comments: On the right-hand panel, select Comments, write your note or feedback, and enter the recipient’s email address to send them a notification directly.


Collaborate in Real Time: Tagged users receive an email with your comment, allowing them to open and respond in the same report.

Once all edits and notes are done, click Save Changes or Approve Report to finalize.

 

Tips and Warnings

Edit user info smoothly with these tips and key notes.

  • Use AI Captions and Tags to auto-fill key data into your report.

  • Save your personalized templates for future use.

  • Include your company logo for consistent brand identity.

  • Reports can be exported to PDF or Microsoft Word directly from the web app.
 
  • Only media with GPS or tag data will display correctly on map or plan overlays.

  • Make sure all media are fully processed before generating a report.
