How to Manage and Clean Storage in Filio App?

> Learn how to automatically remove synced photos from your device to save space and keep your phone running smoothly, while ensuring cloud access. Additionally, manage and clean storage by clearing unnecessary files directly within the Filio app.

Remove Synced Photos Automatically from Data Collector App

Follow these steps to set up auto-removal of synced media and optimize your device storage.

Step 1: Access Settings and Data Storage


– Launch the Filio app on your mobile device.
– Tap the Settings icon at the bottom-right corner.
– In the Settings menu, tap ‘Data and Storage’ to access storage preferences.

Step 2: Set Auto-Removal Period

Tap “Remove Synced Media After” to choose how long synced files remain on your phone before being deleted from local storage.
Choose your preferred timeframe: Never (keeps media on your device indefinitely), 1 day, 7 days, 2 weeks, 1 month, 3 months (Recommended), or 6 months.
After choosing, tap “Save” to apply.

Step 3: View Cloud Media

Note: Only the local copy is removed — all media remains securely backed up in the cloud and accessible anytime from any device.
Head to the Gallery tab and tap “Cloud Media” to view all your backed-up visuals without using local storage.

How to manage and clean storage in the app?

Follow these steps to manage and clean storage in the Filio app.

Step 1: Open Settings and Access Storage Options

– Launch the Filio App, then tap on the Settings tab in the bottom-right corner.
– In the Settings menu, tap Data and Storage to view your media and storage options.

Step 2: Manage and Clear Storage Usage

– Tap Storage Usage to check how much space Filio is using on your device.
– You can clear cached data and remove temporary files to free up space.
– Note: Media removed from your device will still be available on the Filio Web Console (cloud), but won’t be accessible from the mobile app.
– Tip: Use the ‘Remove Synced Media After’ setting to automate cleanup while keeping everything safe in the cloud.

Tips for Removing Synced Photos:

  • Select ‘Never’ if you prefer full offline access.
  • Choose a shorter period to keep your phone light and fast.
  • Use Tags and Map View in the cloud to instantly find specific visuals.

  • Regularly clear cached data to maintain app performance.
  • Check Storage Usage monthly to avoid running out of space.

  • Ensure a stable internet connection to access cloud media after removal.
  • Verify cloud backups before setting a short auto-removal period.

  • Back up important files to the cloud before manual removal.
