Steps to Change Image Naming Rules
Follow these steps to update naming rules for media in your project.
Step 1: Log In and Select Your Project
– Log in to your Filio web account and navigate to the Projects page. - Click on the specific project you want to update to open its dashboard.
Step 2: Access Project Settings
– In the project dashboard, click the “Settings” icon (gear wheel) in the left sidebar to open the Project Settings page. - Switch to the “Organize” tab at the top (next to General and AI Guidance).
Step 3: Configure and Save the Naming Rule
– In the Organize tab, scroll to the “Naming Rules” section and click “Media Naming Rule” (next to Report Naming Rule). - For custom text, type your preferred name in the “Your Custom Text” box (e.g., “SiteUpdate”). - To use predefined fields, click the dropdown under Predefined Fields and select options such as Project Name, Date (MMDDYYYY), Global Number in Project, Latitude, Longitude, Time (HHMMSS), Taken By, Wind Speed, Weather Temperature, Weather Condition, First Tag, Second Tag, Third Tag, Elevation, or Bearing. You can combine them in a formula by typing text followed by an underscore and @. For example, ProjectName@Date will auto-generate names like ProjectName_10112025. - The preview below shows how downloaded files will follow this pattern (e.g., “Project Name Date (MMDDYYYY) Latitude”). - Click the orange Save Media Naming Rule button to apply changes and new media will now use your rule!
